Chef Biography
Nancy Forrest was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. After school in 1987, she moved to the east coast to get a different outlook on life. She enjoyed baking and began working in Boston area restaurants, including A Mano. In 1989 she traveled to Paris where she enrolled in La Varenne Ecole de Cuisine to enhance her work skills, and also apprenticed in various restaurants.
Chef Nancy returned to Portland in 1993 to help Great Chef Cory Schreiber open his new restaurant, Wildwood, and be his pastry chef. The Great Chefs television crew showed up in 1994 to tape her preparing a Lemon-soaked Pound Cake with Fruit and Chantilly Cream, for their Great Chefs – Great Cities series. When Chef Schreiber sold the restaurant in 2007, Chef Nancy retired to raise her family.
