Chef Biography

Philippe Le Pelletier was born in the Paris region, and his parents were from Breton.  From a young age he had a talent for cooking, and he went through school, graduating with a CAP in pastry. After apprenticing and working up the kitchen ladder in large hotels, he ended up as pastry chef for Great Chef Alain Ducasse in 1993.

In 1996, he moved down the French Rivera coast to Cannes, as pastry chef for Great Chef Bruno Oger at the Majestic Hotel.  In September 1998, the television team of Great Chefs showed up at the Majestic to tape Chef Le Pelletier for the Discovery Channel’s television series, Great Chefs of the World.  (Chef Le Pelletier appears in episode #166 of the series.)

In 2003, Chef Le Pelletier had enough and went back to basics, retiring from the kitchen.  Seven years later in 2010, he started cooking again as chef, and in 2013 he took over the restaurant of L’Hostellerie des Enclos, located at the gates of the Arrée Mountains in Brittany, where he remains today in 2016.
